Hello Friends!!!!!
A few weeks ago Andi and I had the same idea of getting together since it has been way too long and we aren't getting any younger. 😲 Great minds think alike! LOL
I suggested my house and then going to downtown Newark. There have been many changes in the downtown and frankly, Kim and I are very proud of them and we wanted all to see what is happening.
Recently Harry told me that the 14th is our Ribs and Jazz fest downtown and the Canal Market Place but I couldn't find any info at this time about it. I contacted Harry and he said that his facebook page has info about the jazz and rib fest, so friend Harry and check it out. However, the Sticks and Stones (yes, they are still here) play that eve 7:00 to 10:00 at the Buckeye Winery.
We have 2 wineries downtown, Buckeye Winery and the Sand Hollow Winery. The Natoma is now Park Place Bistro we usually have appetizers in the bar area, Sparta is now Elliot's which is a rather small area but they have fire roasted pizza and a nice bar.
So, the way we are looking at this is meeting at my house around 2:00 on the 14th. Hanging here for a bit, pool available if anyone wants to get in of course. I'll have some light appetizers. Bring what you want to drink. Around 5:00 we can head to downtown Newark. The Canal District area first where the Rib fest is going on and a fun area. From there wherever we would like to roam. FYI - the old Stein is not open anymore. Has not been for some time. So that is not on the tour. 😤
Tom and others are golfing possibly at Denison Golf Club, formerly Granville Golf Course. If you or any of the your spouses would like to golf, let Andi or Tom know as soon as possible so that they can make tee times. They will meet up with us by the time we head downtown.
Shelly W. and Kevin are staying at my house Saturday night and maybe Shelly Miller and Steve at our house beside us. That leaves a double bed and a futon available there too for anyone else. Sue and Jim, Andi and Tom have rooms at the Cherry Valley Lodge for that night. If anyone else wants somewhere to stay, we will work it out.
Looking forward to seeing everyone. Even though we are 60+, plan on bringing bathing suits if it as hot as this week. Thomson pool is the "no judgement zone". 🏊😉😎
